About UsThis website was created by Andrew Osayemi and Debra Odutuyo - the creators of hit TV Show Meet the Adebanjos and The T Boy Show and the founders of MTA Productions.
When Andrew recently become a father, he searched online to find books to read with his child at bedtime to help him learn about his Yoruba and African culture. However, he found it difficult to find a central place to find all the wonderful children's African books. He soon found that many other African parents shared the same problem. This got him and Debra thinking that why don't they create a blog that will be a resource for parents and highlight where they can find books, videos, apps for their children so they can learn more about their native language and culture. Hence www.yorubakids.com was born! Each week they will update the blog with new and exciting content which they will find around the world so that parents have a one stop shop for Yoruba content for their children! |
Who We Are |
Andrew and Debra are the creators and executive producers of Hit TV Show Meet the Adebanjos and The T Boy Show. Born of Nigerian parents in the UK they were frustrated by the lack of show's which reflected their upbringing and culture in the UK. Hence in 2010 they decided to join forces and create a fun TV comedy about a Nigerian family living in London, UK with traditional parents and western kids. This show was called Meet the Adebanjos and became a worldwide hit with 3 seasons produced to date and 50 episodes and airing in over 20 countries around the world. In 2014 they branched out to create their second show called The T Boy Show which is about a Nigerian student living with his British relatives in the UK.
