Lizzy and Danny's Yoruba Space Adventures - Joko!

Lizzy and Danny are space travelers.
They travel in a spaceship called the Blam Blam Ship.

Lizzy and Danny only speak English but want to learn Yoruba as people on planets they travel to only speak Yourba.

They have a trusty computer on their spaceship named Bonzo.
Bonzo helps them learn new Yoruba words.

Jump on board with Lizzy and Danny as they set off on a new adventure and learn new Yoruba words.

On a starry night, Lizzy and Danny were flying across the sky in the Blam Blam Ship.  They saw a space kid in need of help.

As fast as they could zip, they pulled him into their spaceship.

“Hello!” Danny says with a friendly smile.

“YORUBA” says the space kid with a new talking style.

Lizzy says, “You don’t use the same words as we do. How can we understand you?”

Danny sees that the kid is wearing red clothes.  He says, “His clothes are all red.  I think he must be from the Planet Red.  Let’s take him back to his home.”

Danny & Lizzy dash to their seat but the space kid is still on his feet.  Lizzy says, “Sit down and buckle your belt.”  Then she remembers he doesn’t know what her words mean.

The kids try so hard to show him the way, but he doesn’t understand what they say.

Lizzy says, “Oh Danny, there’s no way we can go.  His belt must be buckled or we have to say no. Let’s ask our computer for an idea or two.  He will know just what we need to do.”

“Bonzo, Bonzo!  Please wake up now.  We have to get our friend home and we don’t know how.  He does not use his words like we do and he won’t buckle his belt so we can fly safely through.” Danny shouts.

Bonzo comes to life with a flash and a beep and asks the kids why they woke him from his sleep.
“We need you to tell us the word that means to sit down.” They both say.
Bonzo beeps and he crackles and shouts out the word.  “JOKO” is what they all heard.

(Play the below clip to hear Bonzo pronounce “JOKO”)

They run to their new friend and say “JOKO” with a smile. The space kid sits and he buckles awhile.

Lizzy and Danny “JOKO” as well and together the three head for Planet Red.

They zoom through the sky and take their friend home. Be sure you “JOKO” wherever you roam.

Practice saying “JOKO” with your children each time you would like them to sit down.

THE END

I am an adult and signed up to learn the Yoruba language for myself, who have a lot of friends who speak the language. It would be great if you start teaching how to say complete sentences, or offer an adult version....:) Thank you for this opportunity!! I am excited!

Gazing at the huge sock trees, the Wumple Chumple smiled. He loved his sock trees, his sock plants, and his sock hedges. Looking around, he saw pink-spotted birds flying above the blue trees. Green lambs and blue horses played in the fields and the pale blue grass wafted in the soft summer breeze.
